25th June 2014
What is it?
This year I started The Fearfully and Wonderfully Made challenge which saw girls ditch their makeup for a day and send me photos of their bare-faced beauty. This is an event that we will run annually on 25th June… 6 months before Christmas. It was a totally liberating experience this year and although it was a spontaneous event with only a days notice we had a great response. I hope you’ll get involved next year!
So why do we do it?
I love beauty products and makeup but we can so easily disguise who we are using them. The truth is, every single one of us was created for a purpose and in God’s image, every singer person on this plant is beautiful and I want to celebrate natural beauty for one day each year. For many women (and men) going out with no makeup is a huge deal but it is also freeing. To take it that step further and show the world how beautiful you are without any cosmetics can be daunting but what’s the worst that can happen? We were born without makeup, let’s get back to how we were made.
How do I get involved?
It’s really simple, you just don’t wear makeup for the whole day on 25th June 2014 and then you email me a photo and let me know what you’ve been up to on firstname.lastname@example.org. This will be used for a very special post on the 26th June 2014, celebrating God’s marvellous works. To avoid forgetting you can confirm your participation on the Naked Beauty Blog EVENT to get regular reminders near the time.
Do I need to be a Christian?
I based this challenge on my Christian believes and it revolves around a bible verse but you don’t have to be a Christian to take part. Anyone who fancies the challenge is welcome to join in. Just because you are not Christian does not mean you were created any less beautiful.
