Perfectly Purple

1

I really enjoyed doing my pink post last week and this week it’s the turn of purple. My favourite colour although I don’t have much makeup that colour which I find odd so I’ll have to go purple-cosmetics-shopping! Anyway these are the purple products I do have.

Yves Rocher So Elixir Purple – So technically this doesn’t show up purple when it’s on but it is called purple and the bottle is purple. It also smells amazing. Full review  here.

MUA Nail Polish in Frozen Yoghurt – I love this cute purple colour! I only used it for the first time yesterday and fell in love so I will review it at a later date. It is a wonderful candy-purple shade and is perfect for these last few sunny days before we hit autumn, I’m going to make the most of it while I still can!

Purple Hair Chalk – So I can’t use this right now with my red hair as it’ll clash far too much but I love it none the less and if/when I go back to a suitable colour again I’ll definitely be using it again. I have 24 different colour chalks but this is my favourite. Review here.

The Body Shop Eye Definer in Amethyst – This eye liner is great for adding a purple pop of colour to a natural look. I only reviewed it yesterday so I won’t go into too much detail.

The Body Shop Baked to last Eye Shadow duo in Amethyst – I have discovered ow that this is best used wet and I love the vibrant purple it produces that way. It looks stunning and is really easy to work with. Don;t think I’ll ever use it dry again!

Think next week will be Glorious Green so stay tuned for that!

#SBBC – What I Take When I Travel

1

Day 3 of the September blog-a-day challenge started with the exciting news that I now have 300 wonderful followers. I think I’ll do another giveaway at 500 followers. I’ve been blogging 10 and 1/2 weeks and I still can’t get pver the fact that people actually read what I write!

Anyway, into today’s post. I take so many things when I travel so I decided to just show 7 of them. I tend to over-pack and take everything including the kitchen sink, you just never know when you’re going to need that bright pink eye liner you bought when you were 13.

  • The Body Shop All-in-One BB Cream is multi-purpose, I use it in place of my moisturiser and foundation in the morning saving my precious space in my bag and time for enjoying my time away.
  • I always have a concealer with me, I’m currently using an MUA one and it’d be one I took travelling as it’s cheap and easily replaceable.
  • Nail polish, I always take the nail polish I’m wearing seeing as I’m prone to chipping and I’m guaranteed to need to touch them up.
  • They’re Real – this mascara literally goes everywhere with me, I may be busy travelling but that doesn’t mean I can let my lashes go!
  • L’Occitane Hydration Cream – I always take a sample size moisturiser with me for night time skin-care. I take a full skin regime but this is the most important part for me as I get really dry skin.
  • DKNY Be Delicious Perfume – This is my all-time favourite perfume and it holds a lot of memories from weekends away so I always refill and take along my sample size one whenever I travel.
  • Lip Balm – The Figs and Rouge Lip Balm is a current favourite as it works really well but can also double up as a cheek tint,

There are literally so many more products I take but we’d be here all day! Hope you’re all having a good Tuesday!

Top 5 Thursday: Festival Nail Paints

4

I haven’t done a Top 5 Thursday for a couple of week, I’ve suddenly had some very busy Thursday’s! Tonight though I was trying to decide what nail polish to wear for V festival this weekend, (sorry I keep going on about it!) and thought I could upload my top 5 and you could help me choose?

My top 5 include pastel colours and brights. Festivals are the perfect time to stand out and have fun with your nails. So, let’s get down to it! In no particular order!

Barry M Nail Paint in Lemon (307) – I love this fresh, summery shade, it’s been popular among the youth group where I volunteer recently too. It takes a couple of coats but it looks gorgeous once it’s on.

Barry M Gelly Hi Shine in Greenberry (322) – I have done a full review of this one and it does come out beautifully and it barely chips so would be fab for a festival where there’s a high risk of ruining your nails within seconds!

Avon Speed Dry in ASAP Pink – This one really does dry fast and only requires one coat which mean’s it’d be easy to top up over the weekend. It is also a gorgeous girly shade, yet it still stands out.

Misguided Splash Polish in Misstaken – I got this one free somewhere a couple of years back and it still hasn’t dried out. i rediscovered it when I was trying to decide which to include tonight and remembered how much I love it but it does take around 3 coats to get a good colour. It’s a really bright orange and would definitely give a pop of colour to any outfit.

Miss Sporty Lasting Colour in shade 150 – I still maintain that Miss Sporty do some of the best budget polishes. I don’t tend to but anything else from them but their nail paints are amazing. They glide on really easily for a smooth result. This colour also stands out but is a more grown up shade than the others listed.

So which should I go for?

P.S. This is my 100th post on Naked Beauty and I’ve been officially blogging for 3 months today, yay!

Would you rather?

So this was the first time that I’ve been tagged in one of these posts and I’m super excited and thankful to be included by todaycommai! So here goes!

1. Would you rather lose all your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks and lip glosses or lose all of your palettes and eyeshadows?

I’d sooner lose my palettes and eyeshaddows, I don’t go ANYWHERE without mascara!

2. Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

Never ever ever cut it again, I’m growing it anyway and I’m pretty sure it isn’t going to grow much further!

3. Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

Definitely pink, I like my cheeks to be rosy.

4. If you had £1000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?

Clothes, couldn’t justify spending that much on makeup in one go, besides if I had money for clothes I’d then be able to afford more makeup myself anyway!

5. Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner or eyeliner as lipstick?

Er.. hmm.. lipstick as eyeliner could get messy so I’m going eyeliner as lipstick, embrace the gothic look..

6. Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?

I don’t have Sephora where I live and I’m a huge MAC fan so it’s MAC all the way!

7. Would you rather only use one eyeshadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?

One lip colour, I nearly always wear red or none anyway!

8. Would you rather wear winter clothes in the summer or summer clothes in winter?

Neither! I literally despise being too hot or too cold, however, I get incredibly miserable when I’m cold and wet so I’m going to say I’d rather wear winter clothes in summer.

9. Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?

Bright, I don’t do dark too often these days anyway!

10. Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?

Favourite lip product, giving up my fave eye product would mean giving up Benefit They’re real and that is NOT happening any time soon!

11. Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?

Pony tail – My son oddly likes my hair in a pony tail, maybe because it has ‘pony’ in the name.. who knows

12. Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?

Paint my nails, I’m rubbish at it anyway!

13. Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or Sharpie them in everyday?

Sharpie them?! Haha I’d stencil them in. No sharpie is going near my brows.

14. Would you rather live without makeup or nailpolish?

Nail polish
