The Body Shop – Colour Crush Lipstick Review (in Berry in Love 320)

1

I promise I’m nearly at the end of the reviews from my TBS haul! I’m building up my lipstick collection at the moment and as soon as I heard The Body Shop had launched a new one I had to give it a go!

I decided to go for a colour I didn’t already have so opted for Berry in Love which is a lovely deep pink shade with a touch of coral. It’s somewhere between a pink and red and it’s utterly perfect for every day wear. The colour comes out really well and I just can’t get a photo that does it justice. It is wonderfully pigmented and adds a touch of glamour to any look.

It also has a light rose scent which is very elegant and makes the task of applying the lipstick that bit more pleasant It’s also highly moisturising and leaves my lips feeling super soft and well cared for.

It lasts quite well for a lipstick that has a soft sheen finish, I usually find that the lipsticks that hydrate best last least, but this one lasts a good few hours and I don’t mind reapplying every so often.

I am definitely going to try some other colours so I’ll let you know if the others live up to this one!

MUA Hide & Conceal Review

Last week I had an emergency situation whilst in town, yup you got it I had a volcano appear on my face and it looked horrendous!

I dashed into the chemist and picked up a 4-hour spot zapping gel but that wasn’t quick enough, I needed something that would hide it and cheap. There was no way I was doing the school run with this on my face… yes I can be a little dramatic when it comes to these things, but seriously it was bad!

2I let out a huge sigh of relief when I spotted MUA’s latest offering.. Hide & Conceal concealer and it was only £1 too.. cheaper than chocolate! After making my purchase I nipped to the ladies room in costa to cover the volcano which had attached itself to my forehead. I was pleasantly surprised that it covered and blended easily and I walked out much more confidently than I went in.

This concealer also lasted really well, even through my repeated application of the spot gel, which by the way was amazing and I’ll review that tomorrow.  This product has been in my handbag ever since, never again will I have an SOS like that!

Just Keep Scrubbing, Just Keep Scrubbing – Olay Essentials Smoothing Face Scrub Review

Already on number 2!

As I bought my second tube of Olay Essentials Smoothing Face Scrub I realised I clearly love it.. a lot! I haven’t yet blogged about this one but at the moment it is a clear favourite of mine! It smells refreshingly clean and has lovely large particles.

The formula foams so well and after each use leaves a clear improvement. The large particles leave you with a satisfying scrubbed face and radiant natural glow! It also removes what’s left of my makeup without a problem.

My skin is less dry, less spotty and clearer after using this for a while. I also use other Olay Essentials items in my skin regime and they’ve never let me down. They are always well-priced and quality items. They also last a while as you do not need much each time!

What I love most: It is so effective at doing what it does!

What I like least: Nothing, I wouldn’t have gone back to it again if there was!

Garnier Summer Body Moisturising Lotion, Sun-kissed look for light skin product review

I know it’s been pretty glorious the last few days but that’s rare in the UK, so I decided to try a build-up tan moisturiser. Tanning lotion always  goes streaky on me and I have pale skin that only burns in the sun so I gathered this may be a way forward!

I loved the smell when I first put it on but a couple of hours later it just smelt like the normal biscuity self-tan smell which was a bit disappointing. However within a couple of days I did start to notice a different in my skin colour which I was very pleased with. My legs took a lot longer to catch up with the rest of me so I started doing those twice a day, they now have some colour but it is a bit patchy despite my best efforts to take care to get it even.

However, my arms and upper body look wonderfully sun-kissed without being tangoed!

My skin feels beautifully soft too. I give this a product 3/5, I’m pretty sure there is something better out there so onto the next one!

What I loved most: The colour was natural.

What I liked least: Patchy legs!

The Body Shop – Various Body Butters Review – Mmmmm

Body butterReviewed by Tams

I love everything about The Body Shop, especially their amazing body butters!

I have been using The Body Shop body butters for almost 2 years now and they never fail to make me go ‘mmmm’ when I open the lid, I love the delicious smells these come in and the photo above is a selection of my favourites!

I have very sensitive skin so I have to be careful what I use, it is often quite dry too, unless I use The Body Shop body butter regularly. I love that needing to use it doesn’t cost the earth, they are always reasonably priced and I tend to stock up when they have a great offer on. In this case a little bit really does go along way and they don’t leave your skin feeling greasy for hours after either.

They also provide 24-hour hydration which means you only have to moisturise your body once a day, that’s 10 minutes saved a day… that’s 3560 minutes saved every year on moisturising and those of you who know me know I love anything that saves me time!

I tend to opt to use the smell that goes with my mood, it’s the fairest way to choose! Today I’m sporting summery mango. I can’t wait to get my hands on some of the new ‘flavours’!

What I love most: The gorgeous scents.. and my are there plenty to choose from. Cocoa to Lemon there’s one for everyone!

Jelly Pong Pong – Fairy Lashes Mascara Review

Fairy Lashes Mascara – don’t be fooled by the name, this mascara isn’t a bit fluffy, glittery or girly. Not only did my lashes look amazing when I used this it lasted all day too!

I love the name and the packaging which does appeal to the girly girl inside me but I also love that it doesn’t smudge, wear off or slide down my face when it rains! My lashes looked and stayed long, full of volume and curled! It was also quick and easy to use – no need for several hundred coats – bonus!

It can be a bit tricky to get off as it is a bit on the stubborn side but a bit of eye make-up remover does the trick.

What I liked most: Staying power!

What I like least: Nothing!
